History and heritage
The historic falaj system, with its central components named Al Aini and Dawood, provides a fascinating glimpse into the innovative water solutions of the past. These 3,000-year-old channels, created by the Bedouins, remain operational, channelling water from distant mountains to sustain the flourishing greenery of the oasis. However, the waters' presence may vary seasonally. A visit to Eco-Centre, a hub of sustainable architecture, is another interesting thing to do in Al Ain Oasis, to learn more about these historic techniques.
